Throughout this entire period Heinz Dettmer has always had the well-being of the now 230 strong staff and its families close at heart.

Employees at delo came up with a very creative idea to thank him on his birthday. They started a personal announcement series in the local newspaper, the Oldenburger Volkszeitung. For an entire week people could read ‘Thank you’ messages, such as “Many thanks for your generosity” or “Thank you for paying the nursery fees” or “Thank you for providing apprentice positions”. The whole region around Lohne became more and more puzzled as to who had written these announcements and, moreover, to whom they were addressed until finally, on the day of Heinz Dettmer’s birthday, the puzzle was solved in the newspaper. The staff at delo sent their most warm-hearted congratulations: ‘”Thank you, Heinz Dettmer – Just stay as you are!”

Heinz Dettmer celebrated his birthday with company staff at the delo Christmas party. As a ‘thank you’ for the many years in which he has paid nursery fees for employees’ children, the children from the nursery presented him with a single rose at his celebration. Members of the children’s choir from the parish of St. Maria Goretti in Brockdorf provided the musical background and made it an enjoyable evening for all.
